Q: Everything is booked apart from the honeymoon. Do you have any tips for organising our perfect getaway?

A: 1) Know your budget and try to stick to it, and do not be afraid to tell your travel advisor what your budget is. If you grossly overspend on your honeymoon you will not enjoy it, no matter how good it is! The thought of the bills which will be waiting for you at home when you return will be a real buzz kill.

2) Do not choose "exotic" for the sake of exotic, rather decide what sort of holiday you think you will really enjoy and go for it! You have to ask yourself questions like "do I want to lie in the sun for two weeks or do I want adventure and activity?"

3) Choose a destination that you are unlikely to visit when you start a family but that you have always fancied visiting.

4) Choose a honeymoon that suits both of you and not something that either the bride only or the groom only wants. If you tan and he burns, is it really fair to go a beachy country? You will reach a happy compromise, you just have to talk about it. Welcome to married life!

Q: Toddler-friendly honeymoon

A:

Our son will be 2 years old when we get married and we don’t like the idea of leaving him while we go on honeymoon. Any suggestions for a toddler-friendly holiday?

Well the honeymoon is really about the happy couple so it's important to find a location that will give the two of you some time alone.

A good option is the Tryp Peninsula, Varadero, Cuba. The resort is located in the Punta Hicacos National Park, with white sandy beaches and plantation-style villas for you and the family.

There is a kid's corner with a pool and park, and there is entertainment for them too. For you and your partner there are Turkish baths where you can relax and unwind.

Another suggestion is Punta Cana district of the Dominican Republic. The region has plenty of golf resorts, shopping, entertainment and diving to keep you entertained and it's a family friendly location.
