Q: I'm getting married abroad and am wondering about transport. How do you deal with friends and family who need to travel abroad for weddings?

A: Send out save-the-date cards to all the guests on your list. They allow guests to start making work and travel arrangements. Websites are a great way to put an end to repeating yourself. If you are going to create one, mention it on the save-the-date card so all the guests receive them and you don't have to rely on word-of-mouth.

What would you like to know before you travel abroad? Weather? Currency? Food? History? Culture? Posting information about your destination along with any wedding logistics or planning news will keep guests excited and worry-free about your upcoming nuptials.

Q: I'm open to suggestions of where to get married. What locations are 'in' right now?

A: There's no one location because every couple has distinct preferences. One Real Wedding bride chose Coolbawn Quay as her venue specifically because it was not at the top of any list. It turned out to be a great well-kept secret (well, not anymore). Another Real Wedding couple held their reception in the James Joyce house, making their big day look like the hippest invite-only occasion of the year.

Destination weddings are becoming more possible than in the past. Lots of couples are opting for dazzling postcard scenery that's only a short, cheap flight away. Italy is an up and coming country with a growing number of wedding planners available to help you navigate the Italian legal system and source local services.
