Q: I'm getting married in three months and I really want to lose weight for my wedding day, do you have any advice?

A: With the help of the highly successful Weight Watchers points programme your wedding photos will be something you'll treasure forever.

The best way to lose weight is slowly and steadily. Be realistic. Depriving your body of vital nutrients will only lead to listlessness and ill health - not a good wedding day look - and any dramatic weight losses that result will generally consist of fluid. What you want to shed is fat and that happens, on average, at a rate of one to two pounds a week. Although each individual loses weight at different rates, in three months it is possible to shift almost two stone. So with patience and determination the "something new" on your wedding day could be how you look and feel within yourself.
